Our Chapter meets at 7:00 PM on the first Tuesday of the month at Workforce Boulder County (formerly Job Service Center), 1500 Kansas Avenue, Longmont, CO. We consistently have excellent member participation at our meetings, averaging almost 10% of the total Chapter membership.
All veterans are invited to attend our meetings, and DAV members and prospective members are especially encouraged to join us. If you need or would like transportation to and from the meeting, please contact us.
Directions to Workforce Boulder County:
In 1977, twenty two disabled veterans in the Longmont area requested a Disabled American Veterans Chapter charter, and on November 15, 1977, Longmont Chapter #16 officially came into existence. Of the 22 charter members, 13 are still living, and most are still members of the Chapter. The original charter is proudly displayed at the Workforce Boulder County facility, where our monthly meetings are held.
During the 20 years since our founding, our members have devoted countless time, energy and other resources to achieve our one and only goal: "Veterans Helping Veterans".
Our membership stands at more than 250, and includes veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and many of the other conflicts of the past 50+ years. We continually seek new members (Go To Membership Eligibility), as well as current members who would like to transfer to our Chapter (Go To Transferring Your Membership).
Each new year brings exciting challenges to our Chapter in its efforts to help other less fortunate veterans, disabled or not, as well as present a positive image to the community of what the DAV is and what we do. But we welcome those challenges, and rise to the occasion as best we can. Since July 1, 1995, through the dedication of our members, Chapter #16 has donated more than $15,000 in direct assistance to veterans, and countless hours of volunteer service.
We are involved in helping veterans throughout the year, and the following is a brief synopsis of some of the major activities we participate in each year.
We welcome your comments about Chapter #16, the Disabled American Veterans, or this Web Site. If you are having a problem with a VA disability claim, please contact us. We would also be glad to send you the latest copy of our Chapter Newsletter.
