WHO WE ARE

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a non-profit association of nearly 1.2 million veterans who suffered some degree of disability while serving in the armed forces in time of war or armed conflict. The organization was founded in 1920 and chartered by Congress on June 17, 1932. DAV is totally funded by dues and contributions, and receives no federal funding!

With headquarters in Cincinnati, OH, and Washington, DC, the DAV focuses strictly on serving veterans and their families. A non-political organization, DAV has no political action committees (PAC's) and endorses no political candidates.

More than 98% of the DAV's professional and management staff are veterans disabled during or after the Vietnam War, so we'll be around as long as you and other veterans need our free service.
