In 1973 the firm presented its own model railway line under the trade name "ROCO-international" at the Nuremburg Toy Fair for the first time. Autumn of that year the first locomotive based on a European prototype - the V 215 of the DB in H0 was delivered. A rapid rise to an established brand name began. Among many other milestones were the introduction of close-couplings (1976), the start of civilian model automobile program with the trade name "ROCO-miniaturmodelle" (1980), the first electronic train control unit (ASC 1000 - 1981), the ROCO-LINE track system (1989), the introduction of a factory installed interface in H0 locomotives (1993), the entry into digital control technique (Digital is cool - 1994) as well as the introduction of the first fully operational digital H0 model railway crane (1996).

Besides these "highlights" the program was extended continuously with special attention to the technical improvement of the products. This engagement is also documented by many commendations, among them no less than 51 "Model of the Year" citations given by independent public acclaim.

Today ROCO is, thanks to thousands of model railway enthusiasts, the largest European source of two-rail DC model railways in H0 scale. This Austrian company has its headquarters in the famous Mozart city of Salzburg, with additional manufacturing plants in Frankenburg (Upper Austria) and Gloggnitz (Lower Austria).
