Sail-378?

I bought a new sail boat at the Atlantic City Boat Show and when it came in I found out the sail or hull number was 378. I said this rings a bell and I went home and pulled out my scrap book and found a major coincidence. Of all the numbers I could get, it happened to be the same as the first ship I served on.

I received the new boat on the north shore of Long Island and had to take it around to the south shore where I passed Governor's Island. I reported on the Half Moon the day she hit the dock. I said if there is any thing to superstition, then I am not going to get past this area with out an incident. I did go past my old home and was relieved. On the first time going in to a dock with my new sailboat at Hecksher, I hit it pretty hard because of the wind. I immediately said this is an omen. She received only minor scratches.

I also looked at the history of the Moon and found it was transfered to the Coast Guard on the day I was born.

The keel of the Half Moon was laid around the same of year as my new boat. I don't have an actual date, but I wonder now how many other coincidences there are that I'm not aware of.
