(7) Replaced the shorting plug on the firing wire.
C. Set up, aimed, and armed the Claymore mine.
(1) Tied the shorting plug end of the firing wire to a fixed object (for example: stake or tree) at firing position and unrolls wire to mine emplacement site.
(2) Carried the firing device during installation of mine.
(3) Aimed the mine within 1 meter (right or left) of the aiming stake at ground level.
(4) Tied off wire at mine site. ________
NOTE: The scorer must physically get down and chec~ the aim of the mine after the test has been completed to avoid interfering with the soldier.
(5) Inserted the blasting cap in either detonator well, locks it with the shipping plug adapter.

(6) Rechecked lay of mine.
NOTE: If the soldier tries to put the b~sting cap through the hole in the shipping plug primary adapter. he should be scored Fail- for step (5).
d. Rechecked the circuit.
(1) Plugged the firing device into the test set.
(2) Plugged firing wire into test set.
(3) Actuated firing handle and observes window on the test set for a flash.
(4) Removed_M40_Test_Set_and_replaces_shorting_plug_on_firing wire_and_all_dust_covers. _______ _______
2. Fired the MiSAl Claymore mine. _______ _______
NOTE: To receive a 'Go~. the candidate must complete 2a through 2e in sequence.
a. Placed firing device bail in SAFE position.
b. Plugged the firing device into the firing wire connector.
c. Assumed a prone position behind cover.
d. Placed firing device bail in FIRE position.
e. Actuated firing handle to fire mine.
3. Recovered the mine within 5 minutes.
a. Checked that firing device bail is on SAFE.
b. Disconnected firing device from wire and replaces dust cover on the shorting plug end of the wire. Keeps possession of M57 Firing Device.
c. Removed firing wire from stake and moves to mine.
d. Removed priming adapter and separates adapter and blasting cap.
e. Screwed shipping plug into detonator well.

Removed firing wire from stake.g. Placed blasting cap in end of firing wire spool and rolls up the firing wire.
h. Placed mine and accessories in bandoleer.
