M38A1

This is the 1952 M38A1 I purchased in 1978. The first picture is as purchased. I
originally decided to give it a camo appearance. The M38A1 is a 24-volt water-
fording ArmyJeep; a predecessor to the CJ5. It has a 134 cid engine, 5.38 gears,
and a 2.1 transfer case, giving it an impressive  11.3 low range axle. This jeep is
99% original, having all the original engine parts and drive chain. Directionals
have been added, and the spare moved to the side. The ammeter has been replaced with a volt meter; 11 inch front brakes replace the original 9 inch, and
the rear lights have been wired so there are 2 brake lights. Originals used a single brake light. After 10 years I decided to repaint in a military green. All
ignition parts are waterproof and the M38 can be fitted with a snorkel to allow
even the hood to take short term submersion .
