Effective December 7, 2000, Joel Abbott, Camp No. 21, shall hereby be known as Commodore Joel Abbot, Camp No. 21.
Upon investigation, it has been determined that the namesake of the camp was a commodore in the United States Navy and the correct spelling of his surname is Abbot vice Abbott. All correspondence, camp letterhead, web sites, and any other official documentation shall carry the camp name as Commodore Joel Abbot, Camp No. 21.
The Commodore Joel Abbot, Camp No. 21, Secretary shall maintain record of this action in his active file until it can be submitted by him for inclusion in the Camp Bylaws upon their approval.

Effective 12 August, 1999, all members of Commodore Joel Abbot, Camp No. 21, are hereby directed to continue flagging Veterans graves until the beginning of winter. This includes Civil War and Spanish American War Veterans. The Commodore Joel Abbot, Camp No. 21, Secretary shall maintain record of this action in his active file until it can be submitted by him for inclusion in the Camp Bylaws upon their approval.
