Most of the naval aircraft were in the Far East. In Holland there were 44 seaplanes and 30 training aircraft. On May 14 the remaining 6 seaplanes left for France, 18 had been lost on the ground along with all the training planes. Between 12-16 May 1940, 12 fully operational and 2 incomplete submarines reached the UK.

The Netherlands Navy had 51 major seagoing ships throughout the war of which 21 were lost, one of these was used as part of a Mulberry harbour. Personnel amounted to about 6,500 men. As well as the Fokker seaplanes that left Holland on May 14 a further 2 survived the German invasion of Holland.
