All of my convict ancestors arrived in Australia via Port Jackson (Sydney)

Anthony Rope b. between 1750 & 1759 Rochford, Essex, England. Convicted of stealing, he arrived on board the 'Alexander' in 1788 and married Elizabeth Pulley (below) on 19 May 1788.

Elizabeth Pulley (Powley) b. about 11 May 1768 Hethersett, Norfolk, England. Convicted of break, enter and steal. She arrived in 1788 on board the 'Friendship' and married Anthony Rope (above).

John Rogers b. England possibly between 1756 & 1765. Convicted of highway robbery he arrived on board the 'Neptune' in 1790 and married Elizabeth Celey (below) in 1798.

Elizabeth Celey b. about 1776, Holbourne, Somerset, England. Convicted of stealing she arrived on board the 'Britannia II' in 1798 and married 1) John Rogers (above) in 1798 and 2) Robert Richardson in 1811.

Elizabeth Vickery b. between 1746 & 1766, the mother of Elizabeth Celey (above). She was convicted of receiving goods stolen by her daughter and arrived on board the 'Britannia II' in 1798. She married Samuel Phelps in 1801.

John Barwick b. 1792 in Sudbury, Suffolk, England. Convicted of burglary, arrived on board the 'Ann II' in 1810. He married Charlotte Rogers, the daughter of John Rogers & Elizabeth Celey (above).

Cornelius Hines (Hyams) b. 1805 Stepney, London, England. Convicted of larceny he arrived on board the 'Asia' in 1825 and married Eliza Barwick,daughter of John Barwick (above) in 1846.

John Tindall b. 11 November 1779 in Willitoft, Bubwith, Yorkshire, England. Convicted of burglary and arrived on board the 'Indian' in 1810. His wife Charlotte later joined him in Australia.

Thomas Player b. 8 January 1792 in Bristol, England. Convicted of stealing and arrived on board the 'Baring' in 1815. He married Elizabeth Ann Rope, the daughter of Anthony Rope & Elizabeth Pulley (above).

Thomas Green b. about 1790, Derbyshire, England convicted of stealing and arrived on board the 'Batavia' in 1818. He married Ann Mellish (below) in 1826.

Ann Mellish b. about 1805 Antrim, Ireland and convicted of stealing from the person. She arrived on board the 'Mariner' in 1826 and married 1) Thomas Green (above) in 1826 and 2) William Jones (also a convict) in 1842.

George Whitaker b. 1802 at Rotherham, Yorkshire, England and convicted of stealing with force and arms. He arrived on board the 'Grenada' in 1821 and married Elizabeth Sugden (below) in 1830.

Elizabeth Sugden b. about 1806 in Yorkshire, England. Convicted of stealing, she arrived on board the 'Sovereign' in 1829. She married George Whitaker (above).

Isaac Castle b. about 1810 Bampton, Oxfordshire, England. Convicted of stealing he arrived on board the 'Lord Lynedoch' in 1833. He married Hannah Whitaker, daughter of George Whitaker & Elizabeth Sugden (above), in 1846.
