The Prizewinners for Passing Out Parade 1996.
During the passing out parade at the end of every academic year, the cream of the crop of senior Boys are awarded certain prizes that pay homage their excellence in certain areas. These prizes are usually given out by the Minister of Defence, although in our case, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces presented it. There are six prizes in all, but only five are given to senior Boys. The sixth prize, the PIBG or Parent Teacher Association Prize, is awarded to the best PMR candidate for that year, who is a third form Boy.
The Commandant's Prize - awarded to the best overall Putera for that year, technically open to all seniors but by convention reserved for the best Senior Under Officer.
The Director of Studies' Prize - awarded to the top student for the year in academics, open for all seniors.
The Board of Governor's Prize - awarded to the best overall sportsman for a particular year, open for all seniors.
The Old Putera Association (1) Prize - awarded to the best Putera in military training assessments, open to all seniors.
The Old Putera Association (2) Prize - awarded to the most active Putera in extra-curricular (non-sporting) activities, open to all seniors.
