Oganizational History:

15 March, 1929: Redesignated 'The British Columbia Dragoons', from 'The British Columbia Mounted Rifles'.
1 September, 1939: Regiment placed on active service.
24 May, 1940: An active unit, the '5th Canadian Motorcycle Regiment, CASF (The British Columbia Dragoons)' was mobilized.
9 February, 1941: The active unit was redesignated 'The British Columbia Dragoons'.
11 February, 1941: The unit was further redesignated '9th Armoured Regiment (The British Columbia Dragoons)', and assigned to 5th Armoured Brigade.
31 January, 1946: The active unit was disbanded.
