Organizational History:
1 November, 1901: Renamed 'The Royal Canadian
Regiment', from, 'The Royal Canadian Regiment of Infantry'.
1 September, 1939: Regiment placed on active
service, and the active battalion was assigned to 1st Infantry Brigade.
1 June, 1945: A second battalion, '1st Canadian
Infantry Battalion (The Royal Canadian Regiment)', was raised for the Canadian
Army Pacific Force.
2 September, 1945: The second battalion was redesignated
'2nd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment'.
1 March, 1946: The '2nd Battalion' was dropped
from the second battalion.
1 March, 1946: The active battalion was disbanded.
