Jaguar

Jaguar is a 1970's light ground attack aircraft that incorporates 1980's technology, made in cooperation by France and Great Britain.
If you think you've heard of France and UK cooperating to build something, you think well: underwater train tunnels, Talbot (er..that's an old car, if you didn't know it already) and so forth and so on.
After successfully testing the first eight test models, The Sepecat Company built 200 Jaguars (160 Jaguar A and 40 Jaguar E models).
In total, nine squadrons organized in three fighter groups received the Jaguars.

28 Jaguars from the 11th Fighter Sq were detached to the Gulf for the 1991 war. I saw a picture in the magazine "Paris Match", 1991 issue, of tail 11-YG/A-91 that was hit by a SAM, but landed safely after the mission at Al-Ahsa AFB.

Former Yugoslavia - 1993-1999
Jaguars participated at surveillance missions in the several wars that took place in the space of what used to be Yugoslavia. The last one of these missions was Operation "Allied Force" in March 1999 (the Kosovo War).

UK used Jaguars armed with american AIM-9L Sidewinder missiles flew CAP missions in and after Operation Desert Fox, in december 1998.

In the nineties, France maintained three Jaguar squadrons: EC 1/7 "Provence", EC 2/7 "Argonne" and EC 3/7 "Languedoc".
