Required FRA Branches Annual Reports
Each year, the Branch is required to submit various annual reports in June to the Region and National Headquarters. To help alleviate the problem of obtaining this information in June of each year, all Shipmates in the Branch are asked to report their activities or contributions as they occur or as they are done. Submit the reports to the Committee Chairman, or the Branch Secretary at the Branch mailing address on the cover of the newsletter.
YOUTH ACTIVITIES: (1) Youth activities By Branch members in detail (photos, newspaper clippings, letters and other documentation. (2) Financial contributions for each activity. (3) Individual Shipmates working with youth activities and the approximate man-hours spent. (4) Name of outstanding Shipmate deserving of special recognition. (5) Total dollars contributed by individual Shipmates. (6) Total dollars contributed by Branch. (7) Other monetary contributions (donations other than the Branch members). Submit input to Youth Committee Chairman Shipmate Cyndi Jones.
(These activities can include a wide variety of youth activities i.e.: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Sea Cadets, tutor at a school (or even grand children), big brothers, big sisters, mentors, etc)
PUBLIC RELATIONS: (1) Type of Public Relations (Newspaper/magazine articles) concerning the Branch, members of the Branch. (2) Advertisements. (3) Letters to Editors. (4) Letters to and from Veterans Groups, Military Organizations, Community Leaders, Local and Government Officials (Governor, Mayor, Legislators, City Council, Sheriff, Chief of Police, Senator, Congressman, etc.). (5) Community Activities. (6) Civic and Military Speaking Engagements. (7) Radio Announcements, including Public Service spots. (8) Television Coverage of Branch Activities or members. Submit input to Public Relations Chairman, Shipmate Steve Layne.
Document all public relations endeavors. You must submit proof of all activities listed above.
AMERICANISM PATRIOTISM: (1) Type of Branch activity in observance of Patriotic Holidays. (Date, observance, No. of Branch participants, time spent, sponsor.) (2) Type of Branch activity promoting Americanism (speeches to schools and organizations; flag sales; flag donations/presentations; financial support to Regional essay contest). (3) Means Branch used to provide public exposure of FRA to the general public in observance of patriotic holidays. (4) Means Branch used to promote participation in Americanism Essay Contest. (5) Total dollars contributed by Shipmates in support of Branch Americanism/Patriotism activities (include mileage at 14 cents per mile and parking/toll expenses). (6) Total dollars contributed by Branch in support of Americanism/Patriotism activities. (7) Other monetary contributions (i.e. gifts to other patriotic/philanthropic organizations by Branch and/or members). Submit input to Americanism-Patriotism Chairman, Shipmate Gene Drake.
HOSPITAL, WELFARE, REHABILITATION: (1) Hours/mileage spent assisting ill or incapacitated shipmates in hospital/home. (2) Hours/mileage visiting ill or incapacitated members. (3) Hours/mileage contributed in assistance to needy families. (4) Hours/mileage of assistance in rehabilitation programs as assistance to disabled members/families. (5) Hours/mileage assisting in Hospitals, Welfare and rehabilitation. (6) Hours of volunteer work performed at hospitals. (7) Widows assistance: number/hours. (8) Donated blood and number of pints. (8) Number of books or magazines donated to hospitals. (9) Other activities (donations of clothing, household effects, miscellaneous items). (10) Financial contributions. Submit input to Hospital, Welfare and Rehabilitation Chairman, Shipmate Glen Dittman.
Please, if you can contribute information to add to any of the above reports, submit them to the Branch Committee Chairman or to Shipmate Secretary at the Branchs address on the cover of the newsletter. Please submit the information on a monthly basis, or as the individual item occurs. We have missed a lot of information in the past, and our reports have been very skimpy. So please help out and provide information. Many individuals donate time, material and items to hospitals, nursing homes, etc., but the time and effort is never reported. Please help out.
