This website is dedicated specifically to 1/15th (120mm) and 1/16th scale armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) models. Both static and R/C (radio controlled) tank kits and accessories are included at this site. Tamiya will be releasing their modern-era 1/16th scale German Leopard 2A6 in June 2004. This will be a truly awesome model with authentic looking track shoes, aluminum turned barrel, photo-etch parts, and full R/C capability like their other big tanks series...namely, full authentic sound, barrel recoil, hull-lurch (during canon fire), articulated suspension, etc...another astounding kit from Tamiya! Trumpeter plans to release their 1/16th scale Soviet-era T34/76 tank as a static scale model in May, 2004. Trumpeter's website has been updated with pictures and writeups for both a 1942 (all roadwheels have tires) version and a 1943 (middle roadwheels all steel) version. The kits are super-detailed, multi-media with photo-etched parts and full interior details including engine compartment. Truely a fine offering from Trumpeter! See the links at the top right for some additional pictures of the Leopard and T-34 from the 2004 Nürnburg Spielwarenmesse toy and hobby show. Hopefully a full R/C T-34 will be coming soon so it can go head-to-head with Tamiya's Tiger I in mock-Kursk battles! I'm selling some of my unbuilt kits of various scales, See my Flea Market page for details. There are some real deals for 1/35th scale. Visit the Bay Area Tankers website. They are likely the largest organized model tank club in the world!
