Su-30 'Flanker-C'

The Su-30 was developed solely for the intercept role with the PVO, a development of the Su-27UB twin seater, it retains the latters fuselage with extra fuel tanks and 12 external hardpoints.
It was latter modified for the multi-role capability.
Now not needed by the Russian Airforce, with the arrival of the Su-35/37 series, it is intended for export under the Su-30MK and MKI.The MK is a specially developed multirole warplane with the canard foreplanes, digital fly by wire and vectoring nozzles.
The Su-30MKI has been sold to India, they will eventually recieve about 40 or so examples of this most advanced multirole aircraft in the world.
Anatoly Kvotchur, team leader of the Gromov test pilots and hero of the Russian federation says in Military parade, 'I preferred the Su-30', that a twin seater aircraft is always more potent, he also critisises stealth aircraft for 'not fulfilling the hopes pinned on them'...
