Golf company spent some time at the Esso Plant and escorted convoys over Hai Van Pass.  I think this was in 1967 - 68.  Just outside of the Esso Plant, where the where the small river is, you find Namo Bridge.  One of Golf's platoons was guarding this bridge during the 1968 Tet offensive.

If you were here I would like to hear from you.
From Ron Myers.

This is Ron at Nam-O Bridge.  He thought this was taken in August 1967.  As you can see the VC had just dropped two of the spans into the river.  It seems to me that this bridge was destroyed a couple of times during the war and rebuilt.  In the map above this is the bridge just beside the Esso plant.

Ron was with Golf in 1967 - 68.  He left Vietnam three days before the start of the Tet offensive.  Well, timing is everything.

Ron now lives in Citrus Heights, just east of Sacramento, California.  Drop him a line at rlmyers@ns.net
