Doc Johnson was a geneticist with high hopes for himself.  His dream of becoming the greatest scientist to ever live dominates his life.  He was banned from the scientific community because he was performing very odd and dangerous experiments.  With out funding or proper equipment, his livelihood went down the drain.  That's when The Doc turned to violence.  He trained himself to be a competant fighter.  It's the only way he could earn any real income.  For the time being, he's more worried about supporting himself rather than performing any experiments.
