Me in front of the Black hawk I took from Balad to camp Victory. This is from a different flight. But in it you can see all the gear that we have to wear when we are flying. Also you might be able to tell how hot it is. It is much better to ride with the doors open.
This is the DC-23, aka Sherpa, that we took from Al Asad to Balad. Riding this is like being on a roller coaster. They fly at just over 100 mph and no higher than 100' to avoid enemy fire, because there is not any type of armor or defensive weapons on it. This is the big mosque on CP Victory. Rumor has it that this was Sadaam's and his son's personal Mosque.
This is one of the gunners from one of my flights. This is a mini Palace. It is in the middle of what we call EOD or Lost lake. There are rumors that Sadaam is kept in another island on this same lake.
This is a picture I took hanging out the open Black hawk door. This is the trail chopper on my trip from Balad to Victory. This is just a shitty little neighborhood some where in Baghdad.
This is a picture I took hanging out the open Black hawk door. This is an over head of the Balad Airfield. Those are Apaches in the foreground and Chinooks in the back ground. This is a picture from the Tigris River area.
This is a picture of a Black hawk in the distance. It is also showing how green some places in Iraq are. This is a picture of a Marine Helicopter on the tarmac of Balad.

I look like I have had a bad day in this one. What can I say it was an early morning.

I am also wearing the new helmet here. They are 2x as strong as the old ones and weight only 3lbs.

This is the "Rumored" location of Sadaam Hussain.
This is a picture of the "wingman" for our flight from Al Asad to Victory. The pilots actually spent time Hot Shot 'in. I think they were trying to get the "Full Bird" (Colonial) on the UH-60 to throw up. I don't know why, but I like this picture.
Here we are coming down for a quick stop in the International Zone. Not all of Baghdad is ruined. This is one of the larger structures downtown.
