The Fountain Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars members are United States citizens who have served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States outside its continental limits in foreign wars, insurrections or expeditions entitling them to the award of a recognized campaign badge or service medal.
Fountain Valley Post 9557 was instituted in April 1989 with a membership of 46. Presently, the Post has 158 members and a Ladies Auxiliary instituted in March 1999 and it presently has 42 members. The Post and Auxiliary conduct a business meeting each month on the third Thursday and a social/fundraiser on the first Saturday of the month. Post and Auxiliary meetings are held at 16400 Brookhurst St. and begin at 7:00 pm.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9557 involves in service to needy veterans, community service, fostering patriotism, and other worthwhile causes that benefit our members and the community.
