Local, State, and National Newsletters

From the outset of the organization, submarine men and their wives were quick to realize that a National Publication was just not enough to meet the needs of the many chapters that were forming. As a result, enterprising writers and novice editors surfaced, and became the backbone of the local communications networks. It was these newsletters, and their editors, that kept the members informed of local meetings, affairs, events and all the news of a local, state or regional scope.

One of the highlights that appeared in many newsletters were the stories and the humor and works of art which kept many a SubVet interested. These newsletters were especially important to those shipmates who were homebound and could not attend regular meetings.

Here is a listing of the names that were used for the local newsletters. All carefully selected to remind us of terms we are familiar with.
