This picture has a little story behind it. I needed to go up to the spot where I took this picture from, but the guide I was with didn't understand what I wanted. I wanted to go check out our radio equipment and antenna at the top of this hill. He thought I just wanted to go for a hike up the mountain. We got almost all of the way to the top when I was finally able to convey to him where I wanted to go. By that time we were about 1/2 mile from where I needed to be, and no direct rout to get from there to here. We ended up cutting across the side of the mountain through a rock slide area that was way to steep for any sane man to attempt. So we tried it. With every step I could see myself falling down the side of the mountain (about 1,000 feet) with absolutely nothing to stop my fall. He is a very skilled climber who lives at the bottom of the mountain and climbs it nearly daily. I, on the other hand, am not in very good shape anymore, I can't breath do to the elevation, and I am by no means an experienced mountain climber. I thought I was taking my last adventure. But, since I am able to tell the story and I was able to take this picture, apparently I made it. This is the view off of the back side of the mountain. To see the path that I took, see the last picture in the series.
