A Message from Vice-Admiral James Forrester, Chairman
Every year, there is a brand new idea...one that will allow us to spread the wings of humanity and reach into another reality, a reality whereas power, greed and corruption have no part. A reality in which humanity's fundamental beliefs are upheld without doubt. The Player's Conference, is the brain child of many people. People that worked hard to bring what you see before you to the spotlight. With the encouragement of the First Fleet RPG, The Player's Conference was born to help build the roads of the future today. When the subway was first showed, many years ago people gasped and thought that was the end of all our problems. When hydro energy was created, people gasped, once again thinking the end of all their problems was over. Today, many cities still can not coupe with public transit, hydro energy has not solved the world's problems, likewise the Player's Conference is not meant to be a lifesaver. When the idea first crossed my mind, one spring day in 2001, I wanted this to be not only a place where logic would rule, but also a place where we could come together as simmers and unite, to forge friendships that would last a lifetime. The Player's Conference is in no way, a solution to all the problems that face the Star Trek simming community, nor is it a solution to the problems that are facing the First Fleet, however it is a start. I would like to thank everyone for their hard work of supporting my idea, however that was only the start. The real work, the tedious work will happen in the coming months. Let us not sulk behind the past, let us not look to history as a solution, let us glare the future in the eye and tell it that we are coming so be ready! Let us strive to be better than what we are. Merci.
Jim Forrester
