John Deere Diesel ParaGator 6x4
Same as above except: Same as above
not as rugged as Kawasaki MULE
+ Large ATVs cost about $6,000 each
+ Large ATVs are lighter so helicopters can carry more fuel; 300 km range versus 150 km range of Wiesel 2 sling load under UH-60L
+ Vehicle weight more critical for 101st helicopter missions than 82d Airborne's fixed-wing profiles, however ATVs can max-stuff into C-130s resulting in 12 ATVs ground moving 48-72 men per C-130 sortie versus the M113A3 Gavin moving 11 men per sortie or two Wiesel 2s moving 14 men per sortie. ATVs are a cheaper, faster way to give 10-40 mph mobility to Airborne/Air Assault BDEs but:
(-) Less firepower and armor protection ATVs will need a kevlar box to be added to protect men from small arms fire/NBC agents that AFVs already have
(-) Cons: wheels vulnerable to enemy small arms fire/shrapnel
