U.S.S. Fargo (CL-106)


USS Fargo (CL-106) was launched 25 February 1945 by the New York Shipbuilding Corporation, Camden, New Jersey and was commissioned 9 December 1945. She primarily operated in the Mediterranean and Caribbean during her five years of service. Operating areas/ports of call included: Bermuda, Trinidad, Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Turkey, Lebanon, Greece, Italy, France, North Africa and NewFoundland. She served as flagship for Commander Naval Forces Mediterranean for a short time. USS Fargo was decommissioned and placed in reserve, berthed at Bayonne, New Jersey, 14 February 1950, she was struck from the Naval Register on 1 March 1970.
