The AGM-65 Maverick missile is a rocket propelled, air-to-ground missile designed for use against targets requiring considerable warhead penetration prior to detonation, such as:

AGM-65E:

Homes on laser energy reflected from the target.

Has an infrared (IR) seeker

Center aft section consist of:
(1) Warhead, rocket motor, hydraulic actuation system, and wing assembly.
