AGM-88 (HARM) Guided Missile
The AGM-88 HARM is a high speed anti-radiation missile intended for use against:
(1)Radar-guided surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems
(2) Anti-air artillery (AAA) systems
(3) Land and sea-based electromagnetic emitters.
The HARM missile is currently carried on the Navy and Marine Corps A-6E/SWIP, and F/A-18 Aircraft, and has three modes of operation:
(1) Self protect - attacks the target that is the largest threat to the aircraft.
(2) Target of Opportunity - targets important to tactical situation.
(3) Prebrief - Missile programmed to vicinity of known/suspected targets, missile attacks target when lock-on is activated.
