AIM-54 Series (Phoenix) Missile
The Phoenix Missile AIM-54 is a long range, air-to-air guided missile that is capable of using active, semiactive, and passive homing capabilities.
Current models include AIM-54A, AIM-54C, and AIM-54C ECCM (Electronic Protection).
Phoenix is used as a long-range, air-intercept missile launched from the F-14 (Tomcat) aircraft.
A maximum of six (6) AIM-54 Phoenix missiles can be launched from a single aircraft, with simultaneous guidance against widely separated targets.
In addition, the missile has dog fight, electronic protection package (ECCM), and anti cruise missile capabilities.
Consists of four major components: guidance, armament, propulsion, control.
