AIM-9 series (Sidewinder) Missile

The Sidewinder guided missile AIM-9 is a supersonic, air-to-air weapon with PASSIVE infrared target detection with proportional navigation guidance (Refer to Figure 4-9-11, AIM-9 Sidewinder Missile). Sidewinder is capable of being launched from the A-6, F-14, AV-8B, F/A-18, and AH-1 aircraft. It is issued to the fleet as a ALL-UP-ROUND (AUR). The most current version of Sidewinder Tactical Missile are the AIM-9L and AIM-9M.
