Walleye Guided Weapon

The Walleye guided weapon does not contain a propulsion system as do other guided missiles, it is a free-fall weapon. The Walleye is designed to deliver a self-guided, high explosive weapon from an attack aircraft to a surface target. The Walleye is issued to the fleet as an AUR. The only assembly required is the installation of wings and fins.

The Walleye is grouped into two basic series: Walleye I (Small scale), Walleye II (Large scale).

Description
(a) Walleye I (Small scale) - 1000 pound class weapon category, using a 14 or 30 inch suspension.
(b) Walleye II (Large scale) - 2000 pound class weapon category, using 30 inch suspension.
(c) Extended Range Data Link(ERDL)- Is available for both versions of Walleye. ERDL) allows the pilot to steer the weapon to the target after release.

Haze Penetrators(HZ)- Certain modifications of both Walleye I and II are equipped with Haze Penetrators which enhance target recognition/ acquisition during degraded atmospheric conditions.

Consist of three sections: Guidance, warhead and control.
