Hi I'm Chris Brosnahan
As this is my first attempt at builidng a website, the site will be under
construction for quite a while....I plan on devoting these pages to some of
my many interests:
This site is dedicated to all veterans in general, but to Carlos Norman Hathcock II, in particular. Carlos is a true American hero; a Marine Gunnery Sergeant, he was part of the USMC fledgling sinper program in the early days of the Vietman conflict. During his two tours of duty in country he scored 93 confirmed enemy kills, and in his own words, "...gobs of probables". It was during his second tour that with total disregard for his own life and safety, he rescued seven fellow Marines trapped inside a burning APC. Time after time he ran back into the inferno to pull or throw his mates to safety....horribly burned, he spent over a year in military hospitals recovering form his ordeal. He turned down any awards for heroism saying that he only did what one Marine would do for another. A few years after this ordeal he was diagnosed with MS and medically retired form the Corps in '79. Finally in '96, his heroism was recognized and honored with the Silver Star.
Carlos Norman Hathcock passed away in late February 1999; he is survived by his wife Jo and his son, GYSGT Carlos Norman Hathcock III.
Semper Fi Gunny!!!
I was honored to meet Carlos both in Dallas and Las Vegas during the '96 and '97 S.H.O.T. Shows, shake his hand and thank him for for his devotion to his country. There were loads of people lined up to greet him, and I remarked that he and Bill Clinton should have a hand shaking contest with them; Carlos replied - "Yeah, and I know who'd win too!!" God Bless him - and all veterans!!!
