Neutron Generator

This 1.2 million element EMMA calculation of a neutron generator power
supply was run on 512 processors of the ASCI teraflop computer system
at Sandia National Laboratories. Each processor ran at approximately
half the performance of a Cray YMP. Therefore, this calculation, which
ran in only 7 hours on the teraflop computer, would have taken 74 days
on the YMP. A critical calculation which would take 2 years on a Cray YMP
will be performed overnight on the full teraflop system.
