Go Kyle!!
And here's the link to NASCAR Online's Kyle Petty Info Page
Welcome to my NASCAR page...
NASCAR, Kyle Petty, Winston Cup... if these words put racing in your blood, then you are in the right place... I am one of the MANY fans of this sport, and I hope you are too.
To me, NASCAR is more than just a bunch of cars
going in circles, it's runnin' wide open with your life on the line and
the ultimate goal 1000 left turns away. All of the right moves can win
you the race until next week, but your life is in the hands of your crew,
your equipment, yourself, and the other drivers as well... one wrong move
can cost BIG .
My first official favorite driver was the Cowboy Hat wearin' Richard Petty. He was definately a stand-out figure with all of his skills and his image. But I soon began to follow his son instead of him since I am usually one to root for the 'underdogs'. Kyle was in his flashy Mello Yello #42 at that time. Here's a great picture with the two of them together...
Last year, the 96 season, Kyle drove for the SABCO racing owned Coors Light team. He didn't do as well as his fans would have hoped, but we stuck by him through it all. Part of his charm was also gone with him having a beer as a sponsor. Kyle is actually a very decent family man, and will often go to Children's hospitals to cheer them up... not the best time to have an alcohol based sponsor. As a matter of fact, here are a couple pictures from his most recent ride... the Kyle Petty Hot Wheels Charity Ride. The first is a picture of Kyle in his Sidecar Bike, and the second is a picture of Kyle and his dad, King Richard, on their own bikes.
THIS year, however, Kyle and SABCO racing have gone their seperate ways. And along with SABCO went Coors. So who is Kyle's new sponsor? Hot Wheels and Mattel toy companies! This sponsor definately fits him better. In case you didn't notice his new car at the top of my page, here is a link to the image.
Also, since SABCO left, Kyle started his own team! He based the team after his father's team called Petty Enterprises, and called his own team PE2. He will be working with his father to benefit both his team and the #43 STP team.
One other change this year is his number. Ever since I started following Kyle, he has driven cars painted with the number 42. His father drove the #43, and his grandfather, Lee Petty, drove the #44 way back. When Kyle first got into Winston Cup racing, he had wanted the #44 as a tribute to his grandfather, but it was taken and he took the #42, but this year Kyle went back and got the #44 with his new team.
Other big news in the Petty camp is the recent induction of Kyle's father, King Richard Petty, into the Motorsports Hall of Fame!! Here's a picture of Kyle's speech about his father, with the King and his wife looking on.
Now, another thing all good Web pages has is a tribute to those drivers who have fallen in the line of duty. Please select the name of the driver below to go to his tribute page:
May these drivers forever Race In Peace...
I GUARANTEE more to come or your money back!
