More About Me
My name is Technical Sergeant (Select) Ann K. Kilinski (Dickinson).
I've been in the Air Force for just over ten years now. As a Vehicle Operator, I've been stationed at
Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona (my hometown! Graduated from Sahuaro High School in '89),
Eielson AFB near Fairbanks, Alaska (you don't have to ask: yes, it was cold!) during which time I did a six month stint in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. After I returned to Alaska, I headed for Lackland AFB in San Antonio, where I retrained into Combat Arms Training and Maintenance. (In a nutshell, I teach people how to shoot and maintain their weapon.) After two-and-a-half years there, training basic trainees and brand-new cops, I moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Here, I also help take care of all the weapons that get broken along the way. When you're dealing with over 1000 security forces members at one base, there's a lot of stuff that gets broken! I also got to spend four fabulous months at Al Dhafra AB, in the United Arab Emirates in the first part of '01. In the duration of my career I have graduated from Academic Instructor School, graduated from Airman Leadership School as a "Distinguished Graduate", and earned my Community College of the Air Force degree.
Besides all that military stuff, I like sailing Hobie Cats, doing cross-stitch (I know, it's weird), spending time with my husband, reading, and just goofing off. We've been here in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 4 and a half years now, and will be heading for sunny Florida very soon to the 96th Ground Combat Training Squadron.
Dave and I were married May 2, 1998, in a combat wedding. It was a lot of fun! We had an "objector" who got "shot" with a M60 machine gun. (Of course, they were only blank rounds!) Our reception was at Antler Bar and Game Room on Potranco Road in San Antonio - they took great care of us! Both of our families came down for the wedding - mine, from Tucson, Arizona; and Dave's, from Brockport, NY.
