May 1967 Steve enlisted in the U. S. Navy at Jacksonville, Florida, where he commenced his 27 year distinguished Naval aviation career that took him all over the World. He received his Honorable Discharge and Retirement as a Command Master Chief at the Naval Strike Warfare Center, NAS Fallon, Nv. Now know as Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC)

He earned the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (1 award), Navy Achievement Medal (3 awards), Good Conduct Medal (6 awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), and the Antarctica Service Medal. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.

After Steve retired he accepted a position with Aero Union Corporation and we moved to Chico, Ca.
