"Fighting Quebec Separatism"
To many, the province of Quebec is viewed as "Canada's little child". Some feel it's been shown favoritism by Parliament, such action that continually angers the rest of Canada. Time and again, citizens of Canada have watch the future of the country being decided by one province, Quebec. Lucien Bouchard is fueling the fire of Quebec. It is his goal to separate Canada, whether the people of the province want it or not.
Bouchard, in some views, has been exposed several time for treason related plots. Is treason not a crime?

The Truth:
The Quebec government has issued statements to French soldier of the Canadian military discussion the action they should take if Quebec was to separate. What are these actions? The French soldier is urged to return to Quebec and assemble as a "Quebec National Army"

Members of the Bloc Québécois party made complaints that there were too many Canadian flags on display at the Nagano Winter Olympics. They are not complaining when they receive their cheque with the Canadian flag on it for being a member of Parliament.

The Quebec government has also urged women to "reproduce" so that a french majority would have a greater per centage in the province.

The "French Only" signs for businesses, french only language even in the diverse city of Montreal. This type of law may remind us of black segregation. Just another effort to remove non-Québécois for the province.

In November of 1996, an internet service provider was "pressured" into pulling the plug on an anti-Bouchard webpage. Does the Canada Charter of Rights apply to open debate in regards to political figures?

In April 1998, the Quebec government refused two sets of parents the right to name their daughters. The names the parents choose, Ivory and Stormy, were not acceptable by the provincial government.

When applying for a Canadian passport, you need either a birth certificate or a baptismal certificate. How ever, only residents of Quebec can use a baptismal certificate even though many Canadians only have this form of birth documents. Is not the Canadian passport a federal item? Why would one province have different rights in this matter?

During the 1970's, Canadian military was worried that the FLQ, Front de Liberation du Quebec, would steal nuclear weapons from one of it's bases near Val d'Or, Quebec. The FLQ is a group, which is also responsible for over 200 bombings as well as the kidnapping of several government officials.

Only Quebec children have the option of attending an English school. So if your only speak English and move to Quebec, your children must attend a French school... no choice. Thus your children, who might have never spoke French before, must now be placed in an environment they do not understand.

Yes, the statements above seem rather hard. But truth is sometimes hard to swallow. I am a proud Canadian! No, I am not English, I'm Canadian... my ancestors came from the Poitou region of France many centuries ago. They settled in the new world, leaving the problems of France behind. Please do not mistake this information as hatred for the people of Quebec, they are not to blame. The blame lies in the politicians and bureaucrats of the province. They seek popularity and riches. Insteed of trying to co-exist in this large diverse land, they seek difference on every matter. But Canada too must change. Perhaps abandoning the British crown and monoarch system is need... just a thought? We must work things out.

In September, this web site was hacked and some content changed. Now under new supervision, this web site has removed and edited much of it's former content after negitive comments from visitors. Quebec is "La Belle Province" with wonderful people and culture. It should be preserved just like other cultures of this land... Native Peoples, Acadians, Irish and Inuit.
