The members of Knap's Battery are honored to be invited as one of the units chosen to take part in the dedication ceremonies for the unveiling of a new State Historical Marker at New Cumberland, PA on June 10, 1995. This historical marker is in commemoration of Maj. Gen. John W. Geary, who commanded the 28th Pennsylvania Vol. Regiment, 12th Corps, of which the original Knap's Battery was attached to during the Civil War. The marker can be found at 3rd & Bridge Streets, New Cumberland, PA. This ceremony was in conjunction with the 150th Anniversary of the Harrisburg Cemetery, in which Gen. Geary is buried. |
