It would seem to most viewers that the Prisoner and the Avengers would have little in common other than that they were British TV spy dramas produced in the 1960's.
The reality is that they have more in common than one would think.
It is the author's proposal that The Prisoner is one and the same with John Drake of Danger Man / Secret Agent. (This is hardly and new revealtion - I am meerly mentioning it for the sake of reeforcing a key doctrine.
The twist is that he is married to a tall slender brunette know to the world as Emma Peel.
My evidence for such a startling revelation? Elementary
my
dear Watson.
1. Drake and Peel never show the
slightest
romantic / sexual interest in anyone who crosses
their path.
2. Being a Secret Agent would undoubtedly
strain the best of
marraiges for Mr. Drake.
3. Emma,
feeling the bored and frustrated housewife syndrome, seeks
adventure in her life and teams up with a pleasant
"confirmed bachelor" named John Steed.
4. Emma learned
many espionage skills from her husband hence
her title of
"talented amature".
5. John Drake, tired of the toll his
profession is taking on his
marraige decides to sever his
connection with The Agency
and winds up in the village.
6. Upon Drake's return his is reunite
d with his wife who
decides to return to her husband after a couple
of years of
galavanting with Mr. Steed.
7. They all live happily everafter.
