About my military career

I started this page in January of 1998, as a tribute to those people that have served this country before, with, and after me. I served as an 11C, Indirectfire Infantryman, for 10 years, serving in several units.
Trained in E Co, 2nd Bn, 54th Inf, 1st Inf Trg Bde, commencing Feb 12, 1988, completing May 06, 1988, or May 13, 1988 in my case. I broke my foot and ended up with a profile, so I was a bit delayed.
Served with the 1st Bde, 3rd AD, in E Co, 2nd Bn, 36th Inf and E Trp, 3rd Bn, 5th Cav, after a simple name change. So much for the rumors of getting sent back to the States early.
After ETSing I opted to serve with the Michigan National Guard, being in A Co, 1st Bn, 225th Inf, 46th Bde, 38th ID, then being switched to C Co, of the same when the 1st Bn, 225th Inf became a Quartermaster(Petroleum Supply) Battalion. Then after a reshuffling of the 1st Bn, 125th Inf, became a member of that units A Co, then, for the last bit of time in the HHC. In all of these units mortar platoons I was, oddly enough, usually on the base gun.
With HHC 1st Bn, 125th Inf, the most important thing I did, and this goes for the entire ten years, was vehicle inspection at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. I worked with very professional soldiers from all branches, doing an incredible job. And at the end of our time, when the bomb went off, we were all moved and enraged, wanting to do something, but unable.
This is how I felt about the POW-MIA issue, until I really thought about it. I can do something here, get the politicians off there overly re-elected duffs and pass real laws pertaining to these 10,000 plus people.
Brothers, lovers, fathers, sons, uncles, aunts, sisters, and all the other names these people can be called. Imagine it is your relative that is never to be seen again, and, like I had with my mother, a burial. A "closure" of somekind is needed.

Just because the public fighting has stopped, and the bullets and bombs are not used, does this mean the war is over, when so meny people are fighting it still??????????

NO, NOT ALL OF US HAVE FORGOTTEN!!!!!!!!
