The Hump: The central mountains of the area aviators refer to as "The Hump". Terrain similar to this was the rule rather than the exception in CBI. Some pilots and aircrew actually looked forward to missions against Rangoon as it meant they had a chance to relax on their way to and from the target rather than having to fight the weather and terrain of the Himalaya Mountains.
