Richard Carr was a member of Co. A, 57th Alabama Infantry. Richard was captured at the Battle of Nashville and sent to Camp Chase where he died on February 8, 1865. His Grave # is 1100. Incidently, Richard's son was captured at Nashville as well but sent to a different POW camp where he died in March of 1865.

James Floyd Faircloth was mustered into the 57th
Alabama Infantry from Coffee County, Alabama on the 10th of February, 1863
under command of Capt. Jesse O'Neal of Company G. He was 34 years old with
a wife and four children aged two to ten.
Appointed First Sergeant of his company from the ranks, he served until
captured near Nashville by Union forces on December 16, 1864. He was
transported to Louisville, Kentucky, thence to Camp Chase, Ohio, where he
died of pneumonia on Feb. 14, 1865. His Grave # is 1234.
His record shows that he was never paid during his entire service to the
Confederacy. His widow, Temperance, died before pensions began for
Confederate widows in Texas in 1899. Thus, no compensation was ever
received for the faithful service and sacrifice of this family for the
Confederacy.

Thomas Hatcher was a private in Co. E, 20th Alabama Infantry Regiment. He was the son of William Elijah Hatcher and Rebecca Walker, and was born abt. 1821, Millers Cove, Tennessee (Blount County). He had a wife, Mary Ann Pauline Adams, and three children, Rebecca Jane, Mary Ann and Thomas Walker. Thomas Hatcher died at Camp Chase on March 23, 1865. His grave # is 1736.

John F. Ingram was a Private in the 7th Alabama
Cavalry. He was born about 1827 in North Carolina. Undoubtedly he traveled South. About 1850 he married Louisa Blalock and they started a family in Butler County, Alabama. They had the following children: Thomas D., Emma, Marcus C., Mary Lelia, and Alice. The children were born between 1854-1863.

John N. Kirk was a member of the 38th Alabama Infantry Regiment and was captured at Nashville, TN. He died at Camp Chase on March 27, 1865. His Grave # is 1763.

George McMillan Strother was a Private in the 46th Alabama Infantry, Company K. Home Co: Chambers or Randolph Co., Alabama. Born/Died: 1835 or 1836 - 27 February 1865. Buried: Camp Chase Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio, Grave # 1475
