The Office of Force Preventive Medicine Service in 1998
This site is Dedicated to one of the early Battalion Commanders when the MFO was intiated, of the Logistical Support Unit, later called 1st Support Battalion (Airborne), and now identified as Task Force Sinai. Major General James M. Wright served as the Battalion Commander shortly after the MFO was organized 1982. He was a honored guest speaker for the 1998 4th of July celebration with the troops of the 1st Support Battlaion (Airborne). Major General Wright was the 45th Quartermaster General from June 1997 to July 1999. He retired in August of 1999 after 34 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Army. Major General Wright then passed away in February 2000. Major General Wright quoted General Ceighton Abrams, former Chief of Staff and his hero, when departing as Quartermaster General. They were "What this country needs, it cannot buy. It needs dedicated soldiers who see service to their country as an affair of the heart." I hope it is that way with you.
