D DAY
JUNE 6, 1944

The REPULSIVE RAIDER is no more. RAIDER was being flown by Lt. Kline and crew, a new replacement crew. Last seen, the ship was under complete control and sliding down under the formation. No explaination seems forthcoming for the loss of ship and crew. The ship before today's mission had 277:35 hours on it. When she went down she must have had about 280:00 hours even. Had she come back today she would have had 22 missions.

The crew has decided to name our next ship the REPULSIVE RAIDER II.

SHIP BROUGHT BACK AS FAR AS THE ITALIAN COAST. Only 60 miles from the base. Crew bailed out---all safe. Hope to find out reason for the desertion of "RAIDER-I". Don't know all facts---

CREW DIDN"T KNOW HOT TO TRANSFER FUEL.

France invaded today at 6:00 - Beachead sucessful. Wonderful news!!!
