COMMENTS:

Milk Run, 2nd degree. La Spezia overcast, seen from a distance so we bombed the alternate Target of Leghorn. Light flak but accurate. No fighters.

We had three hung bombs. Deck stood on the catwalk and kicked them out over the sea. Brave stunt because he couldn't wear a ‘chute while doing so.

D Day Lt. Stapp and his crew went down over Ploesti. With him were Lt. Mike Lyga, Lt. Pat Anderson and his enlisted crew. Only 7 out of something like 18 old crews of the 777th are left.

We flew a new ship on it's second mission. #371.
