COMMENTS:

A "Bitch". No flack, no fighters at target. Lead navigator and Colonel managed to lead us over Nice and we collected a nice package of Flak. Heavy, intense and accurate. This was going to the target. Coming home we flew up the coast of France for about 30 miles and got flak over Jijes and 10 ME-109's. The flak and the fighters were both accurate and we lost three planes. 777th Operations Officer Capt. R.G. MacCarty was killed by a combination of flack and a fighter pass.
