The 184th Report

Shelbyville Composite Squadron

May 2000

April Practice SAR

The April SAREX held at Clark County Airport went very well. We participated in an introduction to a Lifeline helicopter, performed a missing person search, and played victim while another team working with an aircrew located our position and administered first aid. The next SAREX will be at Morgan-Monroe County on May 27th.

New ES Curriculum

In April we covered Whistle Commands, and Visual Attraction Techniques. On May 25th we will be discussing your individual equipment (Ground Team gear) for 24 hour and 72 hour packs. Each month we will be covering one of the tasks outlined for the new ES Curriculum so that we have a good grasp of the new requirements when they are adopted into the ES program.

Our Squadron Website

We’ve been making several changes to our squadron website. We now have a recruiting section that talks about the history of Civil Air Patrol and the cadet program, updated meeting information, a contact page to send us email, and you’ll also notice new graphics and layouts for the main page. Check it out!
