1Lt. Jeremy Reynolds Gets Married

On July 22, 2000 at the First Christian Church in Shelbyville, Indiana our very own 1Lt. Jeremy Reynolds got married to (then) Carrie Prazeau. The reception was held at the Shelbyville National Guard Armory, the same location for our squadron meetings. 1Lt. Jeremy Reynolds and his wife Carrie honeymooned in Branson Missouri before returning back to Indiana this month.

Cadet Comer leaves for the Silent Service

Our Cadet Flight Sergeant, Cadet Robert Comer leaves this August for the U.S. Navy. Comer will begin training for a position on the Navy’s nuclear submarines. Comer has been with us for a few years. In that time Comer has moved from a Cadet Basic to a Cadet Master Sergeant heading up the position of Cadet Flight Sergeant. Comer has been a welcome addition to our unit and provided good instruction and leadership to our cadets. Cadet Robert Comer will be missed and we wish him good luck in his Naval career!

August Practice SAR

The August SAREX was held at Camp Atterbury in Columbus, Indiana. The event was attended by Air Force “Friendly Observers who road along with the various ground teams on our simulated searches. Shelbyville members – Lt.Col. Ashcraft, 1Lt. Reynolds, and 1Lt. Skeens attended the training excercise. Shelbyville was dispatched with two ground team vehicles headed up by LTC. Ashcraft and 1Lt. Reynolds with teams made up of cadets from Falcon and Morgan-Monroe squadrons. The two teams worked together searching for a simulated missing person. 1Lt. Matt Skeens gave his expertise in tracking and searches thru the wooded and hilly terrain. The missing person search ended in a find and that concluded the days activities for the Shelbyville ground team. The next SAREX will be held on October 21-22 at an undetermined location.
