Explanation Note:

Non-Commissioned Officer grade personel is made up of conscript soldiers with secondary school and university education. Soldiers of this grade fill positions like squad leader, crew commander, radio operator etc. Basic training is followed by a specialized or advanced training phase (from 4 to 12 weeks) that provides recruits with a specific area of expertise or concentration. Leadership responsibility increases at this grade. This responsibility is given formal recognition by higher pay and other advantages. Soldiers need some skills and have to take a special course to fill such positions.
