21ST CENTURY WEAPONS:
WEAPONS OF THE FUTURE TODAY
by Carlton Meyer
The U.S. military spends billions of dollars each year to develop new weaponry, which is mostly wasted on impractical and unimaginative ideas. There is little cross-fertilization of weapons technology between the rival air, ground and sea elements. This is why the joint Special Operations Command fields the best weaponry, despite having a relatively small budget.
I have written about new weapons for over a decade, with limited success. Even when ideas are accepted, there is always a funding problem. There are billions of dollars available, but all of these funds go to well-established corporations with PACs, lobbyists, and retired Generals on staff, and the support of Generals in the Pentagon who have been promised jobs.
Hopefully, someone in power will start a genuine "Revolution in Military Affairs" (RMA) by demanding the procurement of revolutionary weaponry. Major advances are possible with simple modifications to existing weapons. With the encouragement of Mike Sparks, I assembled my ideas for 21st Century weapons and he organized them on this website. November 2000. I have set up a much larger website at http://www.G2mil.com. I left this geocities website running since its free and has great stuff, but I don't add new articles to it anymore.
