Welcome to the home page on submarine insignia created by LTJG Tory Swanson. He is currently stationed aboard the USS MAINE (SSBN 741), a ballistic missile submarine, in Kings Bay, Georgia. The following links will provide some recognition and information on badges from various countries from around the world. Hopefully this will help you collectors out there. A lot of the information has been gathered on the web and through two great books that I have come across. The first book is by Pete Prichard, "Submarine Badges and Insignia of the World". This probably one of the sources for a person to obtain information on this subject. The second book is by LCDR Allen Philips (ret.), "A Guide to Submarine Insignia" which is first book on submarine insignia. Both of these book can be found at Don Palen's website, www.icbm.com along with other great submarine related items.
